July 7, 2006 -- The Songwriters Guild of America extends its most heartfelt condolences to the family of our former Executive Director Lewis Bachman, who passed away this week following a lengthy illness.

Lew's family has requested that his many friends and colleagues throughout the music community honor his memory through donations to their favorite charities.

SGA and its membership mourn this great loss, and will always treasure Lew's many contributions to the songwriting community through his career-long dedication and service to the Guild.
