Dream It, Live It, Own It

Who hasn’t had a day when he or she feels like it would be easier to quit than keep going in this crazy business of music? Or when it seems things are easier for someone else and you wonder when something is going to happen for you? Perhaps it’s on those days when it’s good to have a reminder on your desk, on your piano, hanging on your wall or on the bathroom mirror to inspire you and help you regroup and focus.

Recently Jack Ingram won the Academy of Country Music’s “New Male Vocalist” award—and Jack is not ‘new’ to the music business or songwriting. However, he accepted his award with gracious humility and gave a short, but inspiring speech that may be just the words to inspire you on the days when you’re lacking inspiration:

“It’s been a long road to get here and I stand before you as a new male vocalist. To anyone who has played my music on the radio, anyone who has come to a show with three other people in the audience, anyone who has been moved by the words of my songs and anyone who has big dreams and high hopes..DREAM IT, LIVE IT, OWN IT!
