  1. HOLY BLANKET
I took that holy blanket, with the memories of a child,

down to the homeless shelter and saw one little one smile.

Her eyes told her story full of pain and strife,

of how she lost her way, in the hail storm of life.
I gave her that holy blanket guaranteed to keep her warm.

Most sacred thing she owns tonight on the street, she calls home

on the street, she calls home.

Where did we lose direction, from sea to shining sea?

if one child is homeless, then none of us are free, then none of us are free.
It's just a holy blanket full of patches and memories

with family ties and lullabies: guaranteed to keep her warm.

Rachel Williams vocalist. Kim Copeland Producer.

Kenny Feinberg Sounds like Gospel genre. Nice production and guitar break. Maybe consider adding back up vocals to make more commercial friendly. Otherwise sounds radio ready. 6 years ago

Tyler Hunt I really enjoyed this track. I could hear some background vocals but they are really low in the mix "from sea to shining sea..". this is more production talk, but maybe in the last refrain/verse, I think at the beginning of that even maybe you could still have some of those BGV's as well, that part of the song is still built up and then it drops down towards the end, I think some more BGV's in the height of that song would be very helpful. I am getting like a refrain/verse -> mid-8/bridge (guitar solo) -> refrain/verse. I like how the song progressed in the story line, taking the blanket down to the shelter and then getting into the life of the homeless child. I liked the rhymes as well. I am not well versed in this genre, but I really enjoyed listening. 6 years ago

Kenny Feinberg Right, the song is well written and tells a clear heart warming story. It's patriotic too and even makes me think of Christmas. Like, she received her gift Christmas Eve and will be warm all winter, maybe in the video. And while we're thinking big, maybe you could use a full choir on it. Strong song as is no matter what. 6 years ago
