Eric Nyberg Discussion started by Eric Nyberg 7 years ago
Hi everyone,

My name is Eric Nyberg and last November I released the first full length album from my project House Of All Seasons. I printed up a bio and press release you can read below and the website is www.houseofallseasons.com

HOUSE OF ALL SEASONS is a dynamic, eclectic and lovingly crafted music project by Boston area songwriter Eric Nyberg. It is inspired by such varied artists as The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Radiohead, Elton John and many other classic and contemporary artists. Nyberg was born with a love for music; in fact it's in his DNA. His grandmother was a piano teacher in the Boston suburbs for many years and his uncle went to the famed Juilliard School where he studied trumpet. Eric Nyberg formed HOUSE OF ALL SEASONS in the fall of 2011 and released the project’s first EP "Corners" in 2012, followed by a second EP "Opening Scenes" in 2013. The self-titled debut album was released in November 2016 and mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Simon Gibson who won a Grammy in 2009 for helping remaster The Beatles catalog. "I never in a million years thought I would have an album worked on at Abbey Road, let alone by someone involved with The Beatles, it is probably the highest honor of my life" says Nyberg. The self-titled HOUSE OF ALL SEASONS was conceived from the get go to have three distinct flavors. Nyberg wrote all of the lyrics and all of the music. The first few songs show the blues and rock influence on Nyberg's music, the middle songs show the singer songwriter and the end shows the psychedelic influence of The Beatles, Radiohead and Pink Floyd. "I'm a devoted music lover" Nyberg continues, "I love many types of music. I can go from listening to Robert Johnson to the Righteous Brothers to Metallica and then Beethoven without any lack of enthusiasm. You can expect many different types of songs from me but within a framework that makes them relate to each other. The Beatles White Album, Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and the Stones' "Exile on Main Street" showed me how to make an album with multiple musical styles work." Recording sessions for House Of All Seasons began in April 2016 and work was completed in August 2016. Everything except for the drums on the first two songs was recorded in Nyberg’s bedroom and performed by Nyberg himself. Jake Burton a session drummer and teacher from Nashville and has played with such well known acts as Leon Russell and the Gin Blossoms played drums on “Simmer Down and Axe Fall Blues”. Nyberg is ambitious but modestly so "I love music and I want it to be my life’s work but not in the rock star, world famous icon sense. I love blending tones, creating imagery with the words and music, the production, I geek out on that stuff. I'm devoted to the craft. There isn't a greater communicator in the entire world than music and I'm thankful to God for the gift and the opportunity to share it.” HOUSE OF ALL SEASONS is out now and available for download from www.houseofallseasons.com, Google Play, Amazon, Apple ITunes and on CD from Cdbaby.com. It is also streaming on Spotify. Prospective listeners can hear the album in its entirety at http://houseofallseasons.hearnow.com. A vinyl pressing will be available in the near future.

Laurie Stevens Umm... did I read that correctly? Your album was produced and mastered at Abbey Road? You have session musicians from that have played with Leon Russell and the Gin Blossoms? Wow. Can I get your autograph? . Kidding, But that is a serious touch on greatness and a serious testament to your work. Going to take a listen now.

Just a note. I know Scott has already heard some of your album because I was walking around his desk as he listened. It's funny you say your dad was Julliard trained on trumpet because I recall asking Scott if he heard what I heard -- maybe a jazz influence? But, I will have to listen again.

As you are the first to announce your album launch under our new Members' Studio, I want to ask, first, if you mind if we share this launch announcement on our social media channels and through a press release. Please let us know.

Laurie Stevens Hey Eric,

There is a link in the line, "Loading content, please wait." where I try to click on the portion that reads, "please wait" and the link goes to a 404 page error. I will take a look at the original post and see where the error occurs.
